Default Cant Update 2009 Sync Nav maps

I've been trying to figure out how to update the nav maps in my 2009 and I'm hitting a dead end.

I have the SYNC with Voice Activated Navigation in my 2009 F150. When I log into owner.ford.com and add my VIN it says its up to date and the last update was installed in 2009, so clearly its not up to date and thus does not show any updates available. When I search the Ford website I can find an update DVD for sale for $149.00 and it lists the version as V11.0x. Without an update list I have no idea if that's the latest version or not.

A google search revealed many Ford update DVD's on ebay, both OEM discs as well as copied discs, and nearly all of those have a P rated version number (ie 8P, 9P, 10P) with 13P being the highest number I can find in the listings. I found a copied 13P disc with lots of good reviews for $11, so I bought it. When trying to install it my system failed to read the disc. I looked back at the listing and I missed the part in the compatibility list where it listed only 2007-2008 F150's. (But it listed 2009 Taurus, Mustang, and Fusion) I'm out $11 now but whatever I'm not worried about it. I was willing to risk $11 for something I knew might not work.

I cannot find any other update for my 2009 that is for sure the latest version. I understand the truck is 10 years old and they don't support it anymore, I just want the last version they released. I really don't want to spend $150 for a map update, especially if its not the last version. Anyone know of something I don't? The owner.ford.com website sucks, it doesn't even show the update for our 2013 Explorer even though I just updated it last month. The site is garbage.

Thank you for that, but it doesn't list a version number.

Oh ok. Can you answer this? Why is this update for my truck roughly $150 while the map updates for my wifes 2013 Explorer free?

I don't know of ANY free map updates, they are all around 150 dollars. Are you sure you aren't talking about SYNC updates? 2 totally different things

you have the map update disc for the nav itself and then you have the sync system update which is what shows on owner.ford.com. Those are free updates but not the nav maps.

That's right, my mistake, I forgot about the memory card down there. Still a lot of money for some maps, was hoping I could find a discounted one online, I don't know if its worth that much money.
