Default Can't seem to get rid on engine miss

New to this forum. Recently bought this truck from an older gent that had this since new and took really good care of it. Has 96k miles on it. Picked this 2010 FX4 since it still had the 5.4 like my old 1997 truck has. After driving it a while I noticed it had a slight miss during moderate/heavy acceleration. Nothing enough to throw a code yet. I changed plugs with motorcraft-still there. Changed all coils with motorcraft-still there. Changed air filter, cleaned maf probe with crc, and added injector cleaner to this tank of gas and I can still feel the miss. My next step was going to be a new fuel filter which evidently doesn't have one except the lifetime one on fuel pump. I didn't mind doing the plugs and coils because they were the originals and was time. Just wondering if anyone else has chased this miss before and what they found. Lots of great info on this site. Thanks.

Are you getting any codes?

I see that you edited your post and added this information.

Did you clean the throttle body when you cleaned the MAF sensor?

No codes yet. Well, no check engine light yet. I did not clean the throttle body.

Just because there's no check engine light doesn't mean that there's not a code. Cleaning the throttle body may help.

I was wondering that but service dept. gal at local Ford dealership told me over the phone that they wouldn't be able to tell what's wrong if the cel was not on. I don't have a scanner.

If you go to your local auto parts store (Advance Auto, Napa, Carquest, ect) they will let you borrow one for free. Usually just give them your license and you can use it in their parking lot.

Thanks. I will try that. I didn't think they would show anything if the cel isn't on. We have an Auto Zone here and they have scanned other cars we've had but the cel has always been on. Worth a shot.

Could possibly be an injector.

I will post what I eventually find. Just wondering if I should have reset anything after I changed plugs and coils by disconnecting battery for a while or maybe that doesn't matter. It feels just like when my old 97 5.4 had a coil going bad but it would always trigger the cel.
