Just to make sure ... and you may already know this, but:

The "rim" or "wheel" size/diameter has NOTHING to do with calibrations. You can have the exact same (or close enough) OVERALL TIRE SIZE on a 17" wheel as you can on a 20" wheel. If you did that, NO calibration would be required.

Now, you can keep your wheels the same, and increase the TIRE DIAMETER, and THEN you may want to re-calibrate to get your speedo and other on-board computer stuff (mpg readings, odometer, etc.) to read correctly.

I guess I'm just saying all this because I don't want to see you or anyone else pay to have someone recalibrate your computer when you don't need it.

Also ... JUST SAYING HERE ... I LIKE that my 34" tires make my odometer read LESS than what I'm really driving. I even told my dealer that w/out them being able to recalibrate my odo/speedo for the increased tire size that I'd have (in reality) about 38,000 miles on the truck when the odo is reading 36,000. They didn't care, and said just leave it alone if I want.

I agree...the Falken Wildpeaks are some nice tires. The P rated ones look real aggressive...ride smooth and have great traction. Don't think you can beat them for the price. I ran some LT295x70x17 Toyo MT's on 17x9 wheels with 0 offset on my 2004 Lariat. Tires weighed 73 lbs and you could really tell the performance and fuel mileage loss. P rated tires may be the way to go if you really don't need a LT tire.
