Cant modify door code on MFT
Was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem... I have a 2013 Screw with the My Ford Touch system.. If you go into the settings (gear icon) on the home screen, choose 'Vehicle', and then choose the 2nd option that appears (Modify doorlock key codes, or something to that effect.. You are then asked to enter the MASTER code.. I have verified the master code by cycling my two programmed keys, which displays the code on the 4" display.
Anyway - when I try to enter the master code and press enter, it doesnt accept it 99% of the time. Therefore, I cant add or erase user codes. I brought it into the dealership, the tech confirmed the behavior, and they performed a master reset on MFT/SYNC, and the service tech was then able to get in. He was able to add the additional code I requested, and removed the old one using the MFT interface instead of the tool. However, subsequent attempts to get past that screen afterwards end up with the same result. The dealership told me I would have to do a Master Reset anytime I wanted to do this again in the future, because "the software is a little buggy".
Anyone else run into this issue? I know there is an SSM (44249) for an IDS error message when trying to access the keyless entry factory key code - the tech checked if there were any software updates available, but said I was at the current level (they just flashed it a month ago for an unrelated issue).
Thanks,
Rick

May not be of a huge help, but did you get the card with your keys that gives you the master code? Is it the same as what is on the screen? I haven't heard of the screen trick to see what the code is. I changed my door code via MFT using the master code that was included on the card on the keychain that came with the truck when I bought it and didn't have an issue. I would think it would be the same code that you are seeing on the 4" screen, but again, haven't heard of that trick so I don't know if they are or not.
So - the code on my card doesn't work for anything at all.
By the way, the procedure for the owner for displaying the factory code can only be done with two good programmed keys, and is displayed on Page 81 of the owners manual for 2013, 3rd printing:
Displaying the Factory Set Code
Note: You will need to have two programmed passive anti-theft keys for
this procedure.
To display the factory set code in the information display:
1. Insert a key into the ignition and turn the ignition on for a few
seconds.
2. Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
3. Insert the second key into the ignition and turn the ignition on.
The factory set code will display for a few seconds.
Note: The code may not display until after any other warning messages
first display.

Alright, so I just confirmed I can do it the original way by using the factory code and using the buttons themselves on the door to add/erase user codes.. Its just that MFT wont accept the factory code the majority of the time.. As long as I have a method of doing it, I dont really care if MFT doesnt work to do it..
Thanks,
Rick

I have a 2013 FX4 with MFT and have run into this same issue. I found that if I clear all of the codes via the door buttons that I can then access the options on the MFT screen. This works only until I add a code then it seems to lock me out again... My truck is a month old, so I am pretty sure I have the most recent update... Maybe not?
Glad to see that I am not the only one with issues... I have also learned to use the door buttons...
