im also surprised mine didn’t come with it, it’s a fully loaded appearance package fx4. I just don’t see why you wouldn’t spend that little extra if you’ve already spent so much.
I'm just outside Niagara Falls. Yes, it seems very random which trucks come with certain things.

The tailgate step is an option. On my window sticker it shows I paid an extra $375.00 for it.

That they are! It's pretty great we can be and choose what we want.

This is a forty dollar step from Amazon. For me it was either a step ladder or this step. Step works great for the money easy to remove if needed (Mounting plate would stay on tailgate). I would love to have a factory step, but not for the crazy money it would cost.

Hate to bump an old thread but I've been looking for an F150 and none of the dealers around me appear to order this option. Any particular reason why?

Unclear what you are asking.

If you're asking why none of the trucks on the lot have the tailgate step, you'd have to ask your dealer. They order what they want, and they know what sells.

If you're thinking of ordering an F-150, you can get it equipped however you want to.

I would think they don't feel too many people want to pay the $375 for this option .
( I just looked on e-bay Tasca wants $1300.+ for a Oem replacement step)
If like me once you have one you will definetly will get it on your next truck !!
