Not 100% sure your 2010 looks the same under your driver seat like my 2006 does. Sorry if this is irrelevant. Also depends if you want the amp easily accessible or not. Finally, if you think ventilation is going to be a problem or you know you'll be pushing your amp to the max, Id stay away from putting it behind the seat. Otherwise, behind the seat is a great place for the stealth look.

Good luck with your install.
actually putting it behind the seat is a good spot has the whole seat to vent from as hot air goes up, under a seat it is still kind trapped and if you have your seat warmmers on more heat the amp dosn't need.......
Plus its easy accsess, it moves forward lays flat so easy to work on, when we did mine we just removed it was only 4 bolts to remove the jump seat...Plus it leave the cab clean looking no one can tell you have Major stereo in there....my sub is well hiddeen under the seat and matches my seat colors......just sayin....lol

You fancy newer truck owners and your butt-warmers...haha. Yea i dont know wheres better but I was just giving an alternate spot. It is all preference. I suppose that is true though about putting it behind the rear seat...I might put my new amp back there if it doesnt fit under my seat...Ill find out next weekend.

hahah actually I added mine to my New 2012 screwXLT, put in Katzkin Leather and seat warmers ..lol..no worries I was just giving my thoughts as to wear heat escapes best.....lol...with the new Alpine amps like I have V70 they have new way of getting rid of the heat, instead of fan motors that usually suck in dust and clog it like a computer would do....plus with all the settings on the amp its easier to get to adjust it......

good luck on the Install....

Not sure where you get that idea from.

No steel backing plate. I also drilled into a cross support, not through the cab..

You can mount your amp rack without drilling through a cross support if you fish a bolt and washer into an existing cross support hole, but it is cleaner to do it my way as you can counter sink the screws into the amp rack and cover them with the carpet.

The No drill way will have studs sticking out and you'll add a nut to secure the amp rack.
