Default Cabin Lights Dim Switch Question?

This is my first truck & this may be a dumb question, but nonetheless, when you turn up the cabin lights dim switch all the way to the right (full brightness) and it clicks, are all the lights supposed to stay on (Dome lights, cab light, etc)?

I had accidentally turned the brightness really low and then when i turned it all the way up to see at night with my lights on, all the other lights inside the cab are on and wont turn off unless I turn the dimness down until it clicks again...

See attached.

Yes on my '10 they all say on unless you have the switch on the rear dome all the way to the off side in which case it shouldn't come on.

Worst dual-function switch ever. This is one of those times when less is NOT more.

I kinda like the dim switch, rotate right to click turns on all inside roof lights, all the way left to click keeps them off even when you open the doors. If not all the way left the lights are on anytime you open a door.

I have to agree. I don't like the idea of this whatsoever. Could have been done a lot better, imo. To each his own.

Its a push and hold switch. If you hold it to the right, they turn on without adjusting the brightness, does the same for turning off without dimming.

Not for the poster's truck. His switch Is a dial that turns left and right. If you turn all the way up, it will click and turn on the cab lights. I think 2011+ trucks have the push and hold switch.

The dash lights should not be getting brighter after the click than they are before the click. That’s the way all my Fords have been, one from each decade starting in the 70’s.
