Default Burning rubber.......

Tonight I took the new '14 ecoboost down to the mailbox to get today's mail.

I thought, "hmmm, this hwy doesnt have anyone on it right now" i Turned off the advance trac and pinned it from the mailbox and was sadly disappointed that the new ecoboost didnt slip a tire.

Is this normal to not be able to even chirp them?

Yup. The small amount of turbo lag that the Ecoboost has prevents the tires from roasting too much. Now, put your foot on the brake, spool up the turbos a bit, floor the gas and release the brake at the same time and you'll lay down some serious elevenses.

If I floor ours without power braking it, it usually starts to haze the tires a bit about halfway across the intersection (and the rest of the way through first gear) when the turbos spool up, then chirps them again into second. I'm more than happy with that kind of fun in a nearly 6,000 pound truck!

Really??? My 12 XLT screw 4x4 will have the pavement screaming in pain right through the intersection when I let let it out to play.

Jam the pedal down fast and hold it there. My 11 tears off and slips and then again hitting second gear. EcoBoost here.

No power brake and 100% stock! just floor the go pedal. The adaptive transmission makes a difference on learning how you drive. One member said that after he tows for a while and then unhooks That his truck is so much faster and responsive.( also an Eco).
