burned parts..salvageable?

Default burned parts..salvageable?

Found some fenders on craigslist that im interested in,

...thing is that theyre burned... are they still salvageable?

guy said that its bare metal, only needs a good sand, primer and paint..

thoughts??

Imo definitely NO. Judging by that corrosion pattern that entire truck is toast. Unless you are building a farm truck I wouldn't bother.

Car fires get hot enough to melt aluminum with no problem and even some steels. From my experience high heat exposed metals becomes extremely brittle.

Once you bondo and paint everything it may strart rusting through, warping, and cracking.

thanks for the quick reply man, didn't want to get scammed,

i really want to upgrade to an 09-12 front clip, thought these would do the job just by how easy the guy was making things seem through text

Yeah that may have been a bad result. Wait until a body shop expert chirps in, but I'd say that entire truck is scrap metal.

Go after market for cheap body panels.

Stay away from those. Due to the amount of heat, I'm sure those are warped to some degree.

More work than it's worth IMHO. You will have to get it "soda blasted" then etched then have to fill in the pitting then do the Hi-fill and level out all the "heat damage" before you can prime/paint/clear/install...
