To remove my bed caps I personally would have to cut a number of zip ties that are holding my bed LED's wires up.

Front mounts might not fit with the roll top canister of my Retrax Pro anyway.

Hi, after looking at pictures of my bed cover [Retrax Pro] I have a slightly different view. I still don't need or have room for the front brackets. My bed cover runs with the bed rail and I would be able to remove my rear clamp and use yours instead without any modifications.

I don't see this, either. I think there are just a lot of trucks with this ordered and no longer installed.

It would be great if the mounting were as straight forward as in the 15+, but the mounting points just aren't there on these trucks. Have any of you removed the bed rail cap on your trucks for one reason or another? Would you be comfortable doing that if installation required it (and then reassemble)?

A nice solution if I was simply doing this myself would be to drill a few holes and install rivet nuts of some sort, but I don't think that's something I'd want to require in order to use the product.

Very quickly, regarding the tie downs and strap interference, two solutions are to cut loops into the smaller bracket for use as a replacement tie down point or to just use one of the loops in the rack near the tie down.

Will continue to iterate on these!

I think the bed rails are held on with metal body clips. I personally wouldn't mind removing them but the easier you make the install, the more likely people will be to buy your product.

As far as drilling holes I don't like to modify anything like that on my truck. Nothing permanent.

I'm not sure if this is an orderable option? Mine had the holes but they were not tapped.

Prototypes are made, to test and see if the rail clamps would be strong enough. Still experimenting with figuring out if there's a way to clamp to the underside of the rail and provide the rigidity that we need. Thought you'd like to see!

Cool.

Don't forget to put some cutouts along the top to allow for peoples tonneau cover clamps. 3 staggered evenly along the top would be enough.

I'm all about this. I've got the Rear Seat Release kit for my supercrew and love it.

Anxious to see more.
