Default BuiltRight Bedside Rack System - Need design input!

Hey all!

Many of you have seen our Bedside Racks for the 2015+ F-150, F-250, F-350 and Gen2 Raptor. I know this, because sine their release, we've been getting non-stop requests for an 09-14 kit. Luckily, it was already in the works! We're about to finalize the design, but I thought I'd run it past you all to see if you had input or feedback.

As you can see, it's supported using the OEM tie down point and the bed rail. The slots for the bed rail clamps at 1.25in wide to accomodate most clamps. Because the design is two piece, you'll have some side to side adjustability. The hope is that these will integrate nicely with existing toppers and tonneau covers.

A similar but smaller panel will be in place towards the front of the bed. Pics of that to come.

What are your thoughts?!

For reference, here's the 2015+ kit in use on our 2016 short bed.

Thanks in advance!

Matt

What about using the existing holes for the cargo management system in the 6.5' beds? That would make a good anchor point.

Take pics of what you mean. I have the 6.5 bed and I only have the tie down like he has in his cad drawing. I admit I'm one of the ones hounding him on IG but when I looked at my bed I was curious how it was gonna be pulled off.

I have a soft folding tonneau and see an issue with your clamps getting in the way as mine has a spring loaded clamp at the rear of the tonneau. It cramps down on the inner bedrail. I can get a pic tomorrow to show you what I mean.

Hi, I have the 5.5' bed and a Retrax Pro bed cover. I think the mounting could interfere with your bed side mounting system. Not sure that I personally would want this, but if I did, I would only want these behind the wheel wells. I other words, only the two rear mounts. Front mounts might not fit with the roll top canister of my Retrax Pro anyway.

Very interesting. The mockup kinda looks like a strap used in the tie-down hook would end up hitting your panel in many positions. Which I'm assuming wouldn't be good for it. Does it have enough clearance?

I would say most people do not have the cargo management system. I'm sure that would be useful for them, but certainly not all of us.

I was thinking you could use that tie down like you have and 4 rubber backs like the 15+ ones have.

Here is a thread on it. I would take pics but mine have custom mounts attached to them. Its basically a series of small holes built into the side of the bed.
