I don't have a pac harness as I got rid of sync. I have put two head units in and used the same harness for both, still have the same message.

What harness do you have? I am not using sync either. I have a Kenwood DNX9980HD unit in the 2011 F150 I just bought and would like to not have DVD displayed.

For me I went with an iDataLink Maestro RR and a Pioneer 2440NEX. The Maestro removed the "Built Ford Tough" screen and displays what's actually being sent from the radio. It also returned the functionality of my steering wheel controls. At the same time it also has a neat feature where it will display a screen on the radio showing door status, TPMS, and gauges.
Without it the upper screen was stuck on "Built Ford Tough" and the clock wasn't displayed anymore.

Old thread but new to me
Was wondering if you ever got this resolved?

I am also curious as to what the fix for this might be. I recently had a Kenwood DNX697S installed since my OEM radio did the pop and flashing clock of death. Now I have the DVD - Audio display in the message center and can't seem to change it. I'd prefer just having the F-150/Built Ford Tough Message displayed.
