Built Ford Tough screen and aftermarket stereo
After installing my head unit, when the Built Ford tough screen flashes at start up, instead of rolling to the channel, it rolls to DVD.
I don't expect to see the channel anymore, but would like something other than DVD to display.
Any ideas?

I have STX with sync and it displays Built Ford Tough all the time also.
That is weird.

That's what I had heard is that Built Ford Tough stays on all the time. That would be great. It comes on and startup and changes to DVD.
I don't have Sync either. I replaced a base stereo. Same as what comes in STX and XL.

Hate to revive a thread from the dead...but mine shows DVD as well. I used a PAC C2R-FRD1 wiring harness. Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS head unit. I would love to figure out how to get it to show Built Ford Tough and not DVD.

It's your PAC. Your PAC is simulating the stock stereo in DVD setting to the trucks computer. Unforuntately there is no way to change the PAC. The only way around it is to use one of the old wiring harness plugs and remove your PAC adapter. But then you would lose the functionality the PAC gets you (if your truck is equipped)

That makes sense.
I think it is the aux cable on the PAC harness that would connect to an external dvd player. I bet cutting that one wire fixes the issue, but not wanting to pull the whole thing apart just to find out.
When I put in another system toy, like a Sirius receiver, then I'll give it a try.
