So the back of my OEM front inner pads look like this:

And my new Hawk LTS pads look like this:

Shouldn't the sheet metal shim/plate be contoured to match the caliper poisons like the OEMs?
Oh by the way, I thought I needed pads due to squeaking and squealing I was hearing from the front end, but they only looked like this at 69,XXX miles:

Also, I was quite surprised to see that there are nOw

Yeah, I like the hawk pads, but that doesn't seem right to me either. Looks like it will have uneven pressure and thus uneven wear. Very odd. I would send them back personally.
I wonder if the factory pads are squeaky due to lack of grease on the back plate? I noticed my last two f150's had/have noisy brakes in the mornings. Specially when backing out the driveway.

I'm sure I ordered the correct ones. These are actually the second set of new pads I'm on. I already put on a set of centric posi-quiet's and not happy with the lack of bite on the pedal feel. The cetrics had the same exact same backing plate for the piston side pads.
