Default Box side steps

Anyone have problems with these? Mine won't come out on there own without me practically climbing underneath the truck and forcing them out with some muscle. One of them comes out easier than the other but neither will come out on there own. When I bought the truck they wouldn't budge at all. So I sprayed some WD-40 and worked them back and forth a bit but they still won't come out on their own. I'll probably never use them but I'm the type that likes EVERYTHING to work on my truck as it should. Any tips on restoring these???

I am also experiencing the same issue. My original set on my 2011 worked less effectively when it was cold out.

I just got a different truck and put a set of box steps off an 09 from craigslist...these are even more "dead". Is the little hydraulic part replaceable?

if the truck is under warranty, I bet they'd be covered if they were original equipment.

I've noticed that 3-in-1 oil is much better at lasting effects. same with, say, GM SuperLube (PTFE/Teflon spray).

What's better, AMP or OEM?
