Body rot
All I have to say is this: 4Fe + 3O2 + 6H2O -> 4Fe(OH)3 Remove one of those and you can't get rust. This is high school chemistry. If we wanted to talk about turning hydrogen into gold then we'll be talking about physics. Yes I know chemistry is physics but they're taught separately for a reason.
And here's some more, ions are electrolytes. This is why I said they don't need to be introduced. They're already there. The dryer the air the more static electricity it produces. Electricity releases ions in steel. There are also trace amounts of hydrogen acids in both steel and oil. Electricity releases hydrogen ions. If you don't want to accept or believe it that's fine but as I said, all steel will eventually rust. And as I said, "entropy." Third law of thermodynamics. Nothing is static. Everything changes. I see no reason to pursue this anymore.
Steel rusts, aluminum oxidizes/ cracks apart. Plastic weakens from UV/heat and becomes brittle. There isn’t a material known to man that lasts forever and that is life on earth. If you like the truck you can replace the steel, if you don’t you can move on. People stress out like it’s the end of the world, no rust isn’t cancer. Yes it can be stopped/ slowed. If you don’t want to fix now an oil like Fluid Film will slow it down.

Thank you Jamie
Unfortunately I cant afford to replace untol God knows when. Going through a very bad divorce. Do any of those anti rust things actually work. Assuming I can get to the inside of the fender wells? My body working skills suck badly. Again with what im going through paying someone to fix this isnt really in the cards right now?
Thank you Jamie
Thank you Jamie
Spray inside the rocker panels from the holes behind. The rockers commonly rot on these trucks when they get older, aftermarket replacements are readily available and some shops will do the work for $1,400-$1,500 but fluid film will help delay it.
