Bluetooth won't connect
Bought a used 2011 F-150 XLT back in Nov. After a month or two, it seemed by bluetooth audio would sometimes not connect. Every thing seemed fine with my phone. But after I would shut it off, the next time it would connect. Well now it will not connect at all. My phone (iphone 4S) hasn't changed (or the settings) but when I select AUX the radio goes to Sinc Line-In. From here the menu button I used sometimes to get it to go to bluetooth audio will not do anything when i press it. I am at a loss as to why my bluetooth has gone away. My bluetooth phone is not working either. Am I missing something simple, or is this a dealer fix it problem?

I have the same issue on a 2013 using Samsung S3. It connects sometimes automatically when I get in and other times it does not. It seems to be more of an issue with the audio and not calling for me. I have found if I turn bluetooth on/off on my phone and then select the paired sync it will connect. It is rather annoying.
I've been having this same problem (Sync not connecting for playing music).
2013 FX4, with Sync and MFT (8" screen).
It's fuse number 2, passenger-side footwell access. It's a 15A fuse that runs Sync and the display. I pulled it, reset it...Fixed!
My son and I screwed around with it last night in the truck, turning the BT on/off in the truck and phone (IP5)...rebooting the phone, turning the truck on and off...I even pulled and reset fuse 9 (the radio)...nothing worked.
We did a little research about the BT connection with the truck. BT supports different connection mechanisms/protocols (called "profiles" in BT-speak). Each of these profiles supports different stuff. The phone would always connect for phone calls and the audio controls always worked (I could start/stop the music ok), but the sound would only come out of the phone. Each of these connections is a separate profile for the BT radio. For some reason, the profile that manages actually playing music gets hung up between the phone and the truck. We tried a couple of different phones with no luck. Seems like it's the truck.
Since resetting the fuse fixes it, the truck BT profile for playing music probably isn't implemented properly (there's a bug in the code...it's Microsoft, remember....).
Hope this helps others....it's was a kind of a drag to track down.
I'm guessing, based on the posts I've read, that leaving my ipod connected for several days via the USB cable probably caused the problem.
