I have a Motorola Droid Razor Max. Recently my Sync stopped recognizing incoming text messages. It still sends and receives phone calls but not text messages.

I rebooted my phone - no help.
I turned Bluetooth off then on - no help.

These steps have helped in the past but not this time.

Any thoughts?

 

**** Jimmy I wish sync would stop getting my text messages it drives me crazy when my phones paired to it! I hate seeing the envelope icon as well! Sorry for the rant, Im done...

 

Maybe try doing a Master Reset!

I have the same phone as you. I have a Smart Rule setup for whenever my phone is paired with my truck radio, it announces calls and texts. Look into setting up a rule for it and see if that makes it work again. I'm sure there is a setting somewhere else in the phone for it, but I just happened to find it while making a rule.

 

justjimmy - I have the same phone as you and sync recently stopped downloading texts from my phone also. This happened after my phone recently updated it's operating system. This weekend I played around with it and found out that if I turn the sync MAP setting on in my truck it started working again. Previously this had to be off for text messages to be downloaded to sync. I also had to turn the notifications setting back on also. I don't remember the exact sequence to get to these settings (sorry). Give it a try.

 

Now that you mention that, this issue started right after my phone updated as well.

I'll give that a try.
