blow through console conversion
yes there are only two dash boards, with flow through console and without, but i have seen flow through consoles installed in non flow through dash. there's two large gaps on both sides of the console, some have made filler panels and some haven't, then there is the floor shift which you don't have to install. i have not seen anyone run the flow through console on non flow through dash and connect the ducting, dual zone HVAC box has an oval cut out for a duct to connect to console
the issue won't be the dash it'll be adding the ducting to the HVAC box, all the brackets for the console bolt in and the trim fits an xlt dash but you'll have gaps on both sides of the trim (that the proper dash would fill). best guess would be to get the console ducting adapter for the HVAC box mount the console and trace out the oval part on your manual HVAC box and cut it to get the duct to fit, but i don't know for sure if this will work and if air will just blow all the time or not at all.
I have a 2009 F150 Screw Lariat with a Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control Air/ Heater box and Jump Seat. I am switching to the flow thru console. I secured parts from a donor truck and got all the additional brackets, hardware, fasteners, etc, including the duct to connect to the plenum as the photo shows above. Does my box accommodate hooking up the connector duct to the bottom of the plenum? It does have the under seat vents which I may not remove. This looks like an easy swap and the only thing I will need to fabricate is the fillers in each corner of the dash. I will probably make them out of flexible sheet plastic. After cutting and fitting I will cover with black leather material which is a close match to my upholstery. As for the shifter and wiring I am going to keep the column shifter for now and fit & glue a storage box in the hole. I have gotten 2 USB outlets to replace the lighter receptacles and will connect to my original jump seat receptacle harness.
i have a 12” XLT and did the flow through console swap, filled the side trim gaps, made a cubby for the shifter hole, powered the 110v outlet and the 12v outlet, now the only that’s left is to make the air vents to work
