Default blocks vs add a leaf

im sure its been asked but i wanted to get right to it

i have looked at the f150lift suspension lift
and the rough country 4 inch lift

in the back they both seem to be using blocks

so my q is

whats the diff between blocks in the back .. and adding a leaf

im concerned also with losing carrying /hauling capacity with only the blocks

or should i not worry

whats the general cost on adding a leaf and what suspension gains do you get .. (any lift?) (maintain/add hauling/pulling capacity?)
anything ?

vs the blocks do you lose anything

wheel hopping with the blocks, dont think adding a leaf would hinder any of the things you are concerned with.....but i could be wrong

I did the blocks and felt as if i had stock suspension. no hop or anything. I heard the leafs are for support like if you are going to be hauling heavy things or a camper in the bed.

Add a leaf will add payload capacity and lift the rear. Will also stiffen the ride. It's the only way to go in my book.

The rear end will settle about .25" or so nothing major, i think the blocks are cheaper and possibly stiffer but not sure i have a AAL and never noticed a difference from stock vs pro comp AAL.

If you never haul anything and your truck is a street queen then a block wouldn't be bad, otherwise go with the add-a-leaf. I'm not a fan of blocks thats why I went with an Autospring AAL. The ride really isn't any stiffer, doesn't squat as much when hauling something and it reduces axle hop.

You have pics , like to see it- assuming u did not put a 1.5 to 2 inch lift on front the rake will be a bit too much ( from what others posted)
