Default Blacked out chrome

For anyone that's interested in the black chrome look. I tried out the duplicolor shadow kit on my chrome mirror caps for a laugh. I went pretty heavy on the coats for a real dark look but its a preference thing on what shade you want.

I have been thinking about useing the Duplicolor on the F150 and ecoboost emblems. Any one tried this?

Would it not be easier just to swap with someone who wants chrome instead of black?

I've tried it.
Well, I tried it on the "FFV Emblem" I pulled off of my tailgate to test it before I did the rest of them. It looks pretty good and seemed to match the Tuxedo Black better than a simple Satin Finish paint.

Only issue I ran across is the duplicor 'peels/scratches' easily. BUT I didnt do any prepwork to the emblem, other than cleaning it of oils.

I did, however just pick up a can of Paint adhesive but havent tried that yet. Didnt sand/scuff it either (Not sure how that would look on a 'reflective/chrome' eblem.

I simply ran out of time before I deploy later this week. The paint will now sit in my Garage until I return.

I painted my 09 emblems with the duplicolor dark shadow grey. Scuffed up chrome then adhesion promoter then color coats.

Been going on 2 years now. Couple spots have some chips but overall it's holding up very well.

Best pictures I could find on the truck:
