Default Black HID Headlights

Is there a way I can get my clear HID headlights be like the black ones I see. Do they come apart or would you just need to buy a set of black ones?

search "retrofit" in titles. There are tons of threads about upgrading the lights. Bake the light to remove the lens; paint the bezel, reinstall. probably not a one-day job. some of the retrofitters here let the lights sit for up to 3 weeks to off-gas.

You could get a tint over the top of the, or spray them with nightshades.

They will come apart by putting them in the oven and letting the glue soften.

"tint over the top of the, or spray them with nightshades".

Do you have any pics of what that looks like?

I think you should sell yours to jschuler556 and buy a set of black ones. It's easier than baking your own. If you mess up than your still buying a new set and your out of the cash.

I'm very slowly working on a step by step that'll cover all sorts of stuff... Painting those chrome pieces would require taking things apart, scuffing up the chrome, painting with adhesion promotor, and then painting the black you want.

It may be better to trade with someone who wants chrome, or buy the blacks and sell the chromes to make your money back

The step by step I'm making for getting them apart and doing customization is here
