Default Bilstein 5100

Here's the deal. I had a rancho shock that crapped out on me so I had ordered Bilsteins for front and back. Got them in and installed the rears. I have a 2013 fx4 with a AS 2" leveling spacer. I understood that if I set the Bilstein leveling shocks to 0 that it will all work. Well I picked it up yesterday and my front was 2" higher. The angles were terrible. So I had a total of 4" on the front now. I confirmed that these struts were the correct ones. I also crawled under and confirmed I was on the 0 bottom ring setting. So I call Bilstein and they say I can't use both even at the lowest setting. I call 4wheel parts and I'm told that it will work on the lowest setting. So has anyone ever done this? Used Bilsteins with a spacer but set at the lowest, stock setting? Thanks

Sounds like the mfgr should know what will work.

Were the spring perches installed upside down on the shocks? This has happened in the past with others using 5100's on different vehicle platforms. That's why its best to know all about the mods going onto your vehicle and install them yourself.

A big problem is they are installed wrong. Other problems include its not on the bottom setting and using a spacer with a bilstein shock, which is about dumb. You said you knew your mods right?

Figured out the problem. Rancho struts use their own spring perches. So I don't have factory strut on it to remove the factory perches. I have the rancho perches on now.
