Thanks for the heads up.

I will keep an eye on mine. I've had it for 2 months.

I would imagine a lot depends on where you live! People in the south and CA aren't going to have much of that type of problem. Midwest, Northeast and Canada… yes.

I have Amp power steps and this is my first winter with them on. Going to closely inspect them come Spring. Make sure I'm not seeing the same type of damage show up. I do have mud flaps which should help to some extent, but who knows.

One thing I do is get my truck washed at least a couple times a week but it's not going to help the blasting effect. I've researched the boards and can't find any instant of that happening with the Amp steps but there's always a first time……….

OP was lucky cause that could have really been a disaster. Falling backwards on his head…. If I were that manufacture they ought to be looking into that cause that's a lawsuit looking to happen imo…………

The very best part is the multiple blood clots in leg and lungs after a CT scan and the 5 days in the hospital on blood thinners, so far! (:

I would contact my lawyer on that one, especially after the health problems. I would let it go if I didn't spend 5 days in the hospital. That is very serious! Get well soon!

WOW……. that's serious life threatening stuff. I said before you posted your current medical condition this was a law suit looking for a place to happen. I would assume it's possible to have the same thing happen with this step anywhere salt and sand is used.

At the very least the company might want to "WARN" people of this potential condition happening with their product. For it to fail so soon after installing is problematic at best and serious injury or death related at worst.
