How's the livewire ts? Looking towards that rn. It comes with pre programmed tunes I'm pretty sure. And I like that it's got a dash mount and a large screen.

The LWTS and X4 both come with preloaded tunes. They can also both store up to 10 custom tunes. The LWTS is what I use, but thats because I like to monitor things constantly and the display is larger and it has a mount. I also like that you can add a camera to the LWTS if you dont have a backup camera. The LWTS also can do "performance test" like 0-60 and such.
Other than that, they are virtually the same. You can still datalog on the X4, but the screen is smaller and you will have to purchase the mount ~$20. They have the same preloaded tunes, options, and mostly the same core features.
If you want all the bells and whistles go with the LWTS. If you will use it once in a while and put it in the glove box most of the time, go with the x4.

I like the livewire cause it shows a lot of "guages". I looked at the 5 star and wasn't really a fan I guess. I may do more mods down the rd but don't wanna have to keep "reprogramming" it like that. Also, I do know a quit a bit on vehicles, I was just wondering what a tune could screw up. Obviously the trans If you change the shift points ad what not, which I don't plan on really changing. MAYBE a tiny bit where it's barly noticeable but that's it. Other than that, is there anything I could risk with blowing my engine if I just stick with the preprogrammed tunes on the livewire? If so like what? I'm mainly looking to see all the guages, ( boost, temp, fan control temp, etc) Does it tell oil pressure to? Sorry with all the questions. Just looking to see if there are any "downsides" to the livewire. Why WOULDNT you get it I guess...? Hahaha

I'd just make sure the Livewire can show the parameters you wanted to monitor first...I don't know what parameters these guys are monitoring, but my X4 is pretty much jibberish. I'd be pretty upset if I spent an additional $200 to look at the same jibberish parameters on a nicer looking screen...

If you ran your truck on the hottest tune possible like a 93 performance and dogged your truck everywhere you went you could run into a problem. Or if you tried towing on a performance tune that could mess things up too...
The harder you use something the shorter you're going to make it's life. I'd recommend looking at it that way. With that said though, I'm sure there's plenty of guys around doing boosted 4high launches on performance tunes and they're not running into issues. Why? I couldn't say. Maybe it's because they get out of the vehicle and into something different before anything becomes a problem, or maybe they're just that lucky.
I thought I'd be one of the lucky guys with my 2012 Cummins, but I was wrong about that too...

Thats not gibberish.
Boost - Turbo boost
VPWR - Voltage Power
ECT - Engine Coolant Temp
IAT - Intake Air Temp
Lambse b1 and b2 - What the commanded air fuel is on bank 1 and 2 (you should use measured)
Line Pressure - Trans line pressure for shifting
LD As F - Load as a fraction. .18 = 18% load.
