How would this hold up hauling dirt, gravel, mulch etc etc. Seems it would get underneath or mess up the zippers. Water is also a concern, I wouldn't want water getting trapped and rusting the truckbed.

I went with the lineX on my 04 and it was perfect. I was going to get the LineX again for this truck, but I'm curious about this BedTred.

Anyone haul anything like this in theirs?

I am getting one of these! I have the tailgate step, but I figure I can just skip putting on the tailgate section and I'll still have a good fit and look.

Default Bedrug and hauling

I actually cut my bedrug to accomodate my 5th wheel hitch and have since used it to haul all sorts of stuff (nothing super small like sand), and have had no issues. I did go out and buy the automotive velcro loops and where I had cut openings for the rails I put tape all around it. Haven't had any issues with it.

According to the folks at bedrug I'm still covered under warranty even though I cut it to fit the rails for the hitch.

I recently got a lockable Roll-N-Lock hard retractible bed cover. To install it, the drop in bedliner needs to be cut extensively to allow the Roll-N-Lock to fit properly. I took a peek under part of the drop in bedliner and think I see paint rub damage, but there's some dust so I'm not sure. If it's minor maybe some touch up. If it's major...dunno what I should do. So now I'm looking at a Bedtred. It protects the bed and does not interfere with the Roll-n-Lock.

Cost is a big factor for me.

I found a Bedtred locally, he's asking $200 (says it's lightly used for 6 months, has not used the velcro, and it's a 60 mile round trip to get it). At this point I'm assuming its the newer generation with the zipper. I might ask if he'll take $175, because I'd like to get some new/extra velcro since so many suggest additional velcro to secure the Bedtred. I don't wanna lowball him but $200 would be my max cost on this unplanned expense.

Maybe I can sell the plastic drop in for a few dollars to offset the cost. I never see them for sale though. Maybe get $50 bucks.

I have the 5.5' bed on a 2009 Screw with the tailgate step.

Any thoughts on how to address the possible paint damage in the truck bed?

Put BedRug in my 13 Screw and added a ARE Z series cap- Really nice in there-I had a rubberized pad in my last truck which was fine- I didn't care for sprayed in due to the fade issue.

My thought is to possibly use Herculiner or Duplicolor if there is no rust or bare metal and do the prep perfectly myself. I would think that the self-applied truck bed liner would great under a Bedtred (cheap and not exposed to sun), as far as the truck bed paint repair. No way I can afford for a paint shop to fix whatever damage there may be. They charged $250 to fix a 6" scratch on the roof that had rust. Said to paint the entire roof properly would cost $1500.

I had a bedrug on my previous 2010 F150 and loved it. I haven't installed the bedrug yet in the new 2012 but thought about the bed tred again and it seems so much lighter duty than the much thicker bedrug.

I honestly couldn't see how this thin 1/4" (with backing) liner could protect against dents at all being so thin and so pliable/soft. It also doesn't custom fit into the ribs of the floor like the bedrug.

I'm likely getting my bedrug at the end of the week but am still curious if the bed tred can protect against dents. I have read that the some situations that the rubber can be cut but so can anything as well as the bedrug, just don't know how hard it is to cut.

My dealer was honest and said he only sold a few bedtred while selling mostly bedrugs that he couldn't comment on how it would hold up or protect the bed. So comments here would be very welcome.

While I'm not a fan of spray in liners, if the bed paint is already ruined and with rust, I'd get line x as the prep should clean up the rust and then seal it out.

If there is rust/bare metal, I'll need to splurge for Line-X obviously. But if it's just some light paint damage (there seemed to be a lot of dust, so I didn't get a clear look) I was thinking I would just just the DIY "bed paint" like Herculiner/Duplicolor. After reading peoples results, sure would like to spray it.
