Default bed vibration

Hey I have a question, I've read that bed vibration is normal on these trucks. I can't remember where I read that but the author went on to say when he lifted his tail gate a few inches and let it drop the bed vibrated. I tried that on my truck with my son in his car seat and I could see his little head vibrate. It seems like the whole truck vibrates with it being the worst on the bed. I can also feel the truck vibrate when I go over pot holes or large cracks in the pavement. So my question is, is this normal? I did change my shocks to icon and put load range D truck tires on. If this is normal is there a way to reduce the vibration? Possibly upgrade the shocks to higher perfomance e.i.remote resevoir, or go with a custom spring pack?

If it shakes, and you just put on new tires, I would guess that its a wheel balance issue.

You could rotate the tires front to back, and see if the rotation changes to the steering wheel. If so, 100% positive its a balance/tire issue.

Good luck

Load range D tires have a stiffer side wall and you will feel all to bumps and cracks and such. I just put on a load range E tire and the ride is a lot stiffer but I knew this when I bought the tires. I tow heavy trailers and haul dirt and stone a lot so I did this by chose. As for the vibration when dropping the tail gate and such I have never noticed this.

Your truck vibrates when you go over bumps and such?.... sounds like a serious problem.

Do your tires get wet when you drive through puddles too?
