I'm going to give it one last try.
If not I'll be up to an Optima Yellow top.

It's known that the 11-14 have battery drain issues, search "battery drian".
Ur battery should last you more than 3 years. I have ever had my share of the infamous "battery drain" dying over night for no reason what so ever so far i have had 3 die, i am on my 4th. For me Ford service is useless.

I've read into those but my battery drains over 3-5 days. I'm hoping I don't get that issue.
Also the first time it only drained to 11.3 volts and this time it still turned on but struggle.

Mine has been red since I bought the truck 5 years ago. I figured it was normal.
My truck has been sitting for a week or so at a time lately and always fires up. A bit weak at times, but not enough to make me put a charger on it.
It would be nice if the alternator kept things charged like in the old days.

https://www.f150forum.com/f38/radio-...-saver-234487/

1,400 posts on the mostly likely issue. Bad battery is most likely a symptom, not the issue. If so, a new battery won't address it.

Aside from the Battery Saver... message periodically for the last year, 2 weeks ago the remote lock/unlock and remote start fobs my '14 started working intermittently. Battery in the fob tested good. I have 4 (remote start added later, so 2 more fobs). Either none worked, or all 4 did, so I know it wasn't the fobs.

Took it to the dealer. They charged the battery, which was low despite being 2 years old, low mileage, and me never using power without engine running. My service adviser said the F150 charging system is not able to fully charge the battery. They updated the battery management software.

I have a Battery Tender (use for my motorcycle), so I added a harness, and will top up my battery every week or 2, see how it goes.

why would this start after almost 3 years and 56000 miles?

I don't think you have the battery drain issue others are plagued with. It would have shown up already in the past 3 years.
You stated you had an amp staying on and that pulled your battery down too low to fully recharge back to 100%.
They say batteries that are a few years old are not near as resilient as newer ones and cannot handle a massive discharge event.
If your site glass is red you likely have a dead cell or two.
You can charge to 12+v but it won't have the holding capacity like it once did.

Now that you corrected the amp issue I would install a new battery and call it good for another 5 years.

My 2013 bit the dust after 3 years and it never had the battery drain issue.
I replaced it with an X2 Power AGM battery from Batteries Plus and it starts better than it ever did and I let it sit at the airport for 4-5 days a week every week. It has a 5 year free replacement warranty.

It's almost like a hybrid between high CCA and deep cycle. Meaning its like having an Optima Red top and Yellow top combined. I love it.
Anyway, get a new battery and don't stress about being stranded somewhere.
Danny
