Question Is this battery going bad?

You know the warning you get to shut off the vehicle if you've been sitting with the radio on but the truck isn't running? I'm getting that as soon as I shut the engine down and put it into accessory mode. Does this mean the battery is on its way out? Or could it be something else? As far as I know, I don't have any drains on the battery and it never has a weak start after sitting.

the battery testing seems kind of hit or miss honestly but if the battery is 3 years old or so it's definitely suspect. I would also verify the alternator is charging properly just to be sure

Without looking, I bought the truck three years ago next month, so it's at least that old. Yeah, I'll get it checked out.

Thanks!

my vote is getting a new battery. within our household, 5 vehicles, 4-5 years seems to be the norm on batteries nowadays, at best.. seems like every few months another vehicle needs one.

you're lucky, most batteries these days are good for 2-3 years max.

That better not be true. My OE lasted around 7 before it started showing some issues. Just passed 3 years on a nice AGM.

Testers are inexpensive. I've used mine on several cars to assist this decision.

You are about to go into freezing winter time, just go buy a decent battery.
