Default Battery Drain? Selector switch...

Last week, my battery was near dead, luckily the truck still started. I stopped at the local parts and my interstate MTP-65 battery was dead, at 34 months old. $85 in credit from it, I could go for the same battery or upgrade to the Interstate AGM. I upgraded and got on my way. Truck sat Fri-Sun and the battery was low at 12.2 volts with 950 CCA. When I got it, it tested at 12.8 with 1260 CCA.

I pulled the negative and attached a multimeter, it had a 3.4 amp draw. That's as far as I got since I blew it up after by accidentally putting the key to ON and it obviously pulled more than the 10A limit.

I noticed that once when I was sitting in the truck, the dash lights turned on, on it's own. Today I tested it with the doors locked and it didn't... I unlocked the truck to get out and the P wasn't lit red. I put the key in and it turned red. Tried it again. Locked the truck. Unlock open the door and it lit up red.
You guys think the switch is going bad or at least starting too??? So my question is, should the P be red anytime the front door is opened??
Is this the one we are using? I found it in another thread.
