Default Bakflip secure latch question

While researching (for weeks ) tonneau covers, I had read about being able to open a Bakflip with a coat hanger. Really threw a wrench in things when I heard this. But today as I was researching, I came across a Canadian site that had the below picture on it. Is that how the Bakflips are now being made? Does anyone have that on their Bakflip?

(I am referring to the piece of foam that is near the latch wire. I hadn't seen that before.)

The piece of foam tubing is to protect each panels as it is folded open. The piece of tubing give it a cushon as well as preventing each panel from scratching the other in the folded position.

The BakFlip F1 on my 2010 XLT Screw has a solid piece of foam rather than tubing.

Watch the video and you can see the piece of foam as the first panel is opened. If you will notice on the last panel as it is opened, there are foam pieces that are there to protect the back of the cab.

I wouldn't worry about it, if a thief wants in they will get in. Also, a thief has to know the exact spots to "fish" for the release cable and they are not usually your spur of them moment crooks.

I have had my cover for 2 years now and it works great and I always keep stuff back there.

Ok, thanks. As I looked closer (after I posted) I could see it wasn't covering the wire.
