Default Bad News On My Truck....

I was just given bad news with this issue on my truck. Ford is saying 12/16/2011 for parts availability which means they will have my truck for 5 WEEKS!. I am beyond pissed right now and not sure what to do...

That sucks. Does lemon law apply? That's a long time to be without your truck.

I like the Fusion, but it's not a replacement for a truck. Guess you're lucky they gave you that and not some stripped down econobox.

And what's up with the parts supply chain on these newer trucks? I know Ford is cutting it real close to protect their margins, but I always thought a certain replacement part level was required by law. Lately, I read a lot about parts in short supply and backorder.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I feel for you. The Transfercase in my 2007 AWD Ford Edge took a dump at 40,000 miles. It took 4 weeks to get a new trans. They originally said 6 weeks. However, I called the Ford customer line and politely asked for help and the gal managed to cut it down by 2 weeks by diverting one from the factory. (Yep it had to come freight from Canada) It might not help, but it is worth a try....

I tried the tranny route but all they would offer is 1 months payment on my truck.

The worst part is leaving your truck in their lot to get scratched and dinged.

I'd take it home and return it when the parts come in.
