Default Backup Camera

Anyone have problems with the backup camera, my lines keep turning off and I have to reset them? They stay on for a few days (or less) then turn off.

What's the model year and current mileage on your truck, Lew? I'll look into this further.

It's a 2011 Lariat Ex Cab, if I take it to the dealer they will have to keep it for a day or two (or more) to get it to do it........ thanks for the help.....Lew

There is an extensive thread regarding this from a couple years ago. I've also got a 2011 and it has been happening since brand new, dealer couldn't help, no one on here ever got real closure on the problem. Some dealers replaced cameras, etc., but nothing was ever the absolute and final answer.

For the record mine happens less often than it used to, probably once a month, which considering it used to be once a week I feel that isn't bad. Or maybe I'm just used to turning the guides back on and I've learned to live with it.

Brittany, if you find any reasoning behind this software glitch I'd be interested to hear, please post if you find anything.

My 2011 did the same thing, tried a few updates at the dealer, never really fixed it. Funny thing is it has never happened on my 2013....same engine, cab configuration, just upgraded from a lariat to a platinum.....

Sounds like I may just have to deal with it, not really a big deal. Thanks for all the reply's gang.

I also have a 2011 and it was doing this. I printed the instructions for the dealer from that other thread and took it in. It was covered under my extended warranty. They replaced the camera. However they ignored the reprogramming instructions so I had to take it back and they finally completed the reprogramming.
Since then it has worked perfectly.

At my dealers now, I'll let you know what they say.

The tech got it to shut off after 10 or 20 times putting the truck in R. They called Ford hotline to see what they have to do. They will get back to me today.
