Default Backup Camera

How can I activate the camera when the truck is NOT in reverse?
Like when it is in "D" or "Park".
There must be a way.

Turn on the Delay feature. It won't go off until you hit 5mph

There's also a special device you can buy, can't remember the name but it lets you turn it on

Running the camera while moving has been addressed by the other replies. Sometimes when I'm parked I want to have the camera on. Turn on delay as other posters mentioned, put the truck in Neutral, and put on the parking brake.

This is the same effect as having the camera on while in P.

We sell the Lockpick interfaces, depending on the year you will either need the SYNC (2009-2012) lockpick or the MyTouch (2013-2014) lockpick.

Both do way more than just camera in any gear, any time. Essentially it overrides just about anything that is factory locked while the wheels are turning such as nav input, DVD in motion, additional camera inputs all can be viewed anytime. Front camera can be set to come on automatically below 8 mph too! (if equipped).

Here's the link to the MyTouch:

MyTouch model also has provisions for second rear camera allowing you to select it as your primary rear view camera instead of your tailgate cam. Both can be viewed on demand but your trailer cam can be configured to come on automatically in reverse instead of your tailgate camera, which is handy if you pull a large trailer.

Here's the link to the SYNC model:
