Default Average idle rpm's ?

I have a 2011 3.5l 6cyl. ecoboost . It idles at around 1000 rpm's sitting in the driveway. It also fluctuates a little, but constantly. Is this too high because it seems to be running rough and gas mileage is dropping like crazy !! Just looking for any knowledge about this. Thanks, Dean

I have about 3700 miles on mine now and idle speed is about 600 rpm when the engine is warmed up. When the engine was new there was some fluctuation which is now gone.

I idle at around 500 when cold on my eco (maybe 600, hard to tell). 1000 is about right when you first start and the truck is cold, especially in winter. See how it idles after it is nicely warmed up from a drive.

I've got a few oddities creeping up on my 2011 5.0. Trying to see if any of them are concerning or connected.

First thing in the morning I idle at around 1200 and after a few minutes around 700. Once I've reached temp, at stop signs I'm around 500-600. It ALMOST seems too low, where I feel a shutter ever so slightly and the needle bobs a smidgeon; 1/8th of an inch either direction, but pretty constant. Anyone else's bob up and down a touch?

Probably should have started your own thread.

Normal range for the V8.
Yes, it'll vary slightly.
Do you mean shudder?
Yes, also normal.
