Automatic folding mirrors
It is an expensive mistake, dealer quoted me $1,000.00 to replace. Will never make that mistake again.

I like having control of when they close. I don't always want them closed but when I do, I just hit the button. Its now pretty automatic for me. I just reach up and hit it when I park. Don't even think about it anymore.
I can't help you with figuring out how to do it automatically, it's more than just relays as the SJM and driver seat module are involved with the folding control.
However, if you have to replace a mirror, don't have the dealer do it for you as they are bending you over on that price.
I can't check Tasca's website right now (looks like they're doing server maintenance) but a power folding mirror should run less than $500. I bought 2 for my 2010 Lariat and the total cost was right around $800.
It's really easy to replace the mirrors yourself. Simply remove the door panel, unplug the wiring to the mirror and remove 3 nuts holding the mirror on.
I did it a couple of times when I was changing mine over to power fold as I had to figure out a lot of wiring issues and contemplated selling them instead. Definitely less than an hour start to finish.
Anyway, save yourself $500 next time.
Good luck

I do wish I had more control, now that it's brought up. It'd be great to have them fold automatically with the ignition but also to retain manual control. Then they'd get folded in every parking lot but I could still manually fold them as I approach my garage.
This can be easily done with an aftermarket remote/alarm system that can handle just about any accessory when wired up properly. I'd like this option the best.... Folds up when you are away from the truck,, but you also have the option to fold anytime via switch.
^we tried this 2 years ago with the AUX channels on my Ford 6-button rmst/alarm system. We didn't get it to work properly so gave up. As mentioned, the mirrors are controlled by the SJB and there's a module under the driver's seat. We thought we identified the correct wires and then used 5-wire relays to hook everything up. I pressed the Aux 1 button on my fob and the mirrors folded in one time. I tried again, and then just the passenger mirror folded again. Tried again and neither folded. I was scared we fried something so we disconnected the relays and thankfully the mirrors started working again by using the stock switch. So I gave up on this idea, seems to be too much going on with the SJB, etc., just like we couldn't hook up the heated seats to the rmst either because of SJB and CAN-BUS. I have a 09 truck.
