Default Audiophiles Needed!!!!

I'm wanting to do a system upgrade. I currently have the "premium Sony system". I am thinking about upgrading to a full JL Audio system which includes C5's all around including tweeters with a 10W3v3-4 sub pushed by a XD700/5. Anyone have any thoughts???????

Also, would it be worth the trouble to try and sell my stock speakers and sub? If so, how much.

Please feel free to give constructive criticism as I know just about nothing about audio systems...

Thanks in advance!

I have considered replacing the factory speakers. Not sure about a sub and amps though. I don't rock out like the old days. I don't know if you could find takers on the factory speakers - even the premium. Lots of aftermarket options to chose from that are better.

Very true. I would probably want at least $500 for all the speakers and the sub. It a pretty good price I think. There are definitely, as you said, a lot of aftermarket options out there but not for $500...unless you do it yourself.

I highly doubt anyone would buy used factory Sony speakers for $500, maybe for $100 but definitly not $500. The factory Sony system sounds just as bad as the non Sony system.

My apologies! You still have eBay and Craigslist at your disposal.

BTW...... JL is a good choice, I have two JL 10w3v3-4 powered by a JX1000-1D mono amp. Pounds nice and loud with absolutely zero distortion.

Sweet! I'm only running one. Is that enough or should I go up to a 10W6v2? I'm not trying to go into competition I just want a loud, clear system.

Not sure, as I haven't heard one 10w3.... Only two. But I assume one 10w3 in a quality box powered by a quality amp will still pound plenty.
