Ok so what we have so far is nobody has the texting feature working on a 4, 4s or 5. Other feature work 100% for one, mostly for others and some times for the rest.. now still not one that ALL the features are working for,,,, not even every once in a while! So for those that don't care about texting I guess you are ok with it,,, but to me, that is like my low beams work but my high's don't!

I just tested this on my truck and it does not work, now I will have to check to see if I have the most updated sync in the truck. Now it does work in my wife's 12 Focus and it has the most updated MFT. I will have to get back to you once I try to update my truck.

Update. My sync is up to date and it does not work. I don't have the option to turn on notifications on the phone, and I'm not going to reset my phone to see if it will work. It could be that this is a MFT option.

My '12 with the Nav. works fine with my 4. I never tried the texting--BECAUSE I DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE. It's just as bad or worse than being drunk behind the wheel, proven in several trials. Believe me, I've been on the receiving end of this crap before.

2012 F150 with Nav... BT phone and music works 99% of the time. Was just wondering about Text a few days ago and can't get that to work. Have iPhone 4S with AT&T.

BTW... I have problems hanging up the phone on BT. If I press the phone button, the screen shows "Redial" when I'm on the BT phone trying to hang up... so I always hang up with the phone or wait til the other party disconnects. Am I suppose to hold the phone button down for a few seconds or just press it fast one time? Can't figure this out.

Hold the phone button down for a few seconds until the end call message pops up.

That one I have as most of us do 2011-2012 without nav is the Sync standard! The last update was march 2012 which is over 1.5 years ago.

That is also part of the problem as every time I see an update I get excited only to find out it is NOT for ours! But at least you gave it a try and it did help for the wife's!! At least that is one thing that this thread has been good for! I am hoping we get enough hits that Ford may want to help us out,,,, you know,,,, many here are looking at trading in out trucks between 2 to 4 years! I have got a new truck every 2 years and now that I am getting older, I decided to keep this one until I die,,,, unless they come out with a truck that get 30 to 35 ACTUAL MPG's! That's also why I am upset,,,, I could of put up with it because I would be trading mine in 6 months from now if I wouldn't be so damn old! It is a matter of saving money for retirement that makes me not continue the every 2 year trade in!

I agree but that is,,,, Well,,,,, That is what is suppose to be the best feature of the sync system!!! as I said I can get a 20 buck Bluetooth, but not one that will let you listen to your incoming texts and ability to respond without taking your eyes off the road! Just the same as using the phone to make a receive a call! If you use it for that, then you are as distracted as you would be using the texting feature! IF IT WORKED!!!

No problem. I also did some searching on some Apple forums and our problem could be an Apple thing, but most of the post were about a year old. So who knows. Over on my wife's Focus forum there was a person on Ford's sync IT team posting things. I will try to PM her and see if this is something we will be getting. I have heard that repairing your phone can sometimes make it work better.
