That not an fx4 one. Like mentioned they indicate the level of trim. Mine doesn't say fx4, just fx. I'm also Canadian

I have a Canadian XLT with Max Tow that was imported into the US. As was mentioned, tow mirrors were an option in Canada and not included in the max tow package. I am glad actually, because I wanted max tow, but the tow mirrors would not fit in my garage with folding them in every time and that would get old real quick. Regarding the cluster, there are a few companies that do the regulations involved in importing vehicles to the US, part of that involves opening up the cluster and putting a new faceplate for the gauges on the instrument cluster. In this case, they did not use a proper US FX4 faceplate, but a generic one. Mine is white, and while I don't hate it, I don't love it either, it is hard to see the MPH numbers during the day. I wish they would have used a dark one like yours. To replace the faceplate you pull the needles off the gauges, it seems like they put one back in the wrong spot, but I'm not sure how they screwed that up. Also, not sure you can fix it without opening up the cluster. If you bought it from a Ford dealer take it back and maybe they will replace with a new OEM FX4 cluster. Good luck.

Are the needles indexed so they can't be installed wrong?

I can't say for sure, but I don't think so.

If I recall, the Canadian f150's being sold in the USA are equipped with an overlay on the cluster to change it to mph, under that sticker will be the fx4 logo I'm sure

Oops didn't see the above response, God I hate this app!!

UPDATE:

My dealer finally replaced the entire clusyer to the correct FX one based on the RPM needle sticking. Now it looks like the rest of the FX gauges, they also admitted it was not the correct cluster for my truck. Id imagine they were not happy their service guys didnt catch it, it was an expensive part for them.

Ignore the guy blocking me...but I was unaware it was an additional option to the max tow package. My truck has the same gauge without the fx logo but has red needles and mph on top. Bought in Virginia. What's funny is I found a Canadian dime when I removed the factory sub, to fill it for more bass, on the floor it made my day.

Sorry to bring up and old thread. I recently bought a 2013 FX4 re-imported from Canada. It had the 402A and max tow package and all, nd yes I had to buy a FX gauge overlay and install myself, and no tow mirrors. But do your radios have HD? It is the Sony with Navi but cannot for the life of me get HD to work. Going to try FORSCAN soon maybe module not activated. Maybe HD radio is not on Canadian models?
