I don't have the cal version but I have the 1840 and love it. It woke my 5.0 up tremendously.

how about the shifting... my truck has mostly good days but there is the occasional slight & sloppy downshift (and i just had it re-flashed by ford a few weeks ago)

First off . dont buy the Ca Flashpaq ( I only abide to laws I deem prudent ) those are not , IMO they are stupid .... If your looking for better than oem performance that won't cost you too much the Flashpaq 1842 the one legal in all other states except Ca is a good upgrade . I run the 87 performance tune , eliminated the speed o governor and changed the shift pressure ... Nothing major but at least you can feel it shift now ... If your looking for a program that eliminates the horrible throttle lag this one isnt it .. dont get me wrong its better than stock but still not near what I would like . If you want something for that issue .. You will need to buy the SCT programmer with a custom tune which I hear 5 star has the best for that issue . Wish Id gone that route ..... Other than that and my fuel mileage isn't as good as before the tune , but I attribute that to my foot in the gas more often because its much more fun to drive
Look on Amazon ... mine was 300.00 shipped

I agree the cal one is pointless. And the shifting on the 87 tune gets allot better and the 93 performance gets a little hard shifts every now and then because it changes the timing. My 87 tune is amazing barely feel it shift anymore. Before it would hot hard between 1-2 & 2-3.

I'm done dealing with the BS carb laws. I'm picking up an SCT X4 with some custom tunes. Those commie bastards can sit on tis and spin!

I would've gone with the SCT over the superchip but practically got it for free. But from the reviews the SCT is the way to go.
