My passenger side amp step on my 2010 Lariat Supercrew is going crazy, it randomly comes out and goes back in on its own without opening the door. It happens when I am driving along and also when the truck is just parked in the driveway. I can't tell where the switch or sensor is on the door, I can't see anything that operates the step. Has anyone else had this problem?

 

Start tracing out wires you have a short somewhere.

 

Sounds like the module is either going out or possible a bad connection. Pop the hood and look on the passenger side fender between the battery and firewall, that's where it should be at if installed correctly, unplug it and check for water intrusion or corroded contacts, spray wd-40 on the connector to displace any moisture and reconnect it.
