Default Lighted rocker switch help

I recently installed this on my truck.

LED Rocker Switch with Legend - Backup Lights Switch Red - Backup Lights https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...tch/1884/4432/ , LED Light Wiring Harness with Switch and Relay - Single Channel, DT Connector Wiring Harness - CH1 https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...nel/1753/4083/, and 6" Camo Off Road LED Light Bar with Spot/Flood Combo - 36W 36W Dual Row. my problem is i wired the switch as per the diagram and it is always lit. By this i mean the switch back light is always on. the legend lights when the lights are activated. I was wondeing how i would wire this so the switch is only active when the key is turned on.

You would have to wire that red wire, the one without the ring on it, to a line in the truck that is only hot when the key is on, or, wire it to a line that is hot only when the parking/headlights are on.

Finding a parking light wire would be easier- behind the dash, look at the headlight switch and find the one that is live when the lights go on.

so would i still run power from the battery of run power only off the hot wire in the truck? or could i just run a key powerd wire to the switch where the red wire is jumped to? Thus having the second led lighted only when key activated?

sorry not the best with wiring

The bottom right wire is the power source for the back light The reason the back light is always on is because the bottom right wire is tired into the wire that goes to the trucks battery which is always providing power, to eliminate this issue that wire should not be tied into the wire from the battery that bottom right wire shoukd go to a dash light wire so it only comes on when the dash lights are on , best place to find that wire is on the cluster dimmer switch if you look at pin#1 there shoukd be a purple wire with a grey stripe, tap the bottom right wire on your rocker switch to the purple wire in pin #1 and your problem should be solved

This shoukd illustrate what i just said
The bottom right pin is the power to the back light it should NOT be jumped to anything it should be a single wire going to the dash light wire
The top 2 ground wires CAN be jumped because its all going to a ground

The harness would need tweaked a bit to have it work as requested. The switch has a + input and output, when the switch is on, the light lights, and the LED lights up, using the supplied + line.

The output then goes to the relay coil, to activate it, the battery +12 then gets sent to the accessory lead. The problem is, the battery +12 is also used for the switch +12v. So if it is to the battery, that is why it is always on, when on.

The solution is to remove the connector at the switch +12 input, and replace that with a new line that goes to your master source- parking light lead, switched ignition line. This way, the switch, and relay can only be on when that master is on. The accessory is still powered by the +12V battery line.

I do this to mine
