I work at a ford dealership that sells and installs them. we don't sell many, but the few that have been done look and function very well. I am in Minnesota, so with the snow, ice and road salt, I wouldn't get these, but if you are in a easier winter state, no problems at all. There is drilling invloved as well as some wiring to get them to open when you open the doors. good luck in what you decide

There is no drilling to install these. They also work great in the cold. No problems with snow etc.

I love mine. The clean look of no visible running boards really suits these trucks, and the five year warranty made it a no-brainer. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Edit - and to confirm what JD already noted, there is *no* drilling involved in installing them. You can have a look at the install instructions here:

I've only had mine on for about a month now, but I love them so far. I like the way they retract to keep the higher clearance look.

When they deploy, they are wide and flat, making them much more functional than the tubular style with a small step pad.

They can be installed by the average do-it-yourselfer with a few simple tools. There is definitely NO DRILLING. It does help to have a friend to make feeding the pre-loomed wire down the fenders easier and to help hold the step up when attaching to the arms.

I read many posts where people claimed to have had little to no problems with them in the winter. I live in South Bend, IN where we get plenty of lake effect snow, so we shall see...

Also, you may be able to luck out on eBay like I did. $790 shipped, new in the box!

Had my limited for a week now and really like the look of these. They are nice and wide and not bad grip on them. I don't need them, I am 6'5 but my wife enjoys them. Don't know if I would spend the coin on them as an aftermarket add on, but I do like that I have them now.

Its been 1 year this month on my truck and they have performed flawlessly.... The only issue I had and it might have been corrected by the MFG, is that the passenger side wiring does not connect where its supposed to.

Best thing I did to my last truck. Will be one of the first things I do to this one (if it ever shows up). I had them on there for 3 and a half years. No problems at all
