Default Alpharex Pro Luxx?

I currently have the Alpharex Pros with Hikari LED bulbs and the light output mostly sucks. I’m going to install a HID kit next to see if it helps, but I’m wondering if I’d be better off just getting the Luxx or Nova to cut down on wire clutter. Has anyone used the Luxx? I’d love to know how it compares to an HID kit or the Nova.

Which Hikari bulbs do you have? I've heard good thing about the Eyes of Megatron bulbs.
I have HID's in my Alpharex for low beams. They light it up real nice. I do have LED's from 4x4TruckLEDs in High Beams and they work, but don't WOW me. But it's LED's trying to throw far light, so.........

I tried both the red box 10,000 lumen and black box 12,000 new model. Both say eye of megatron on the box. The new model is an improvement but neither is good. They aren’t that bright plus have a narrow beam. I’m pretty sure I had them both clocked right. 9 and 3, most other positions were significantly worse.

One of the biggest problems with LED bulbs is beam concentration. Diode Dynamics explains this well here:
In the past I have used DD LED S1 bulbs and they were a significant improvement over stock because the amount of R&D they put into their bulbs. This comes at a cost however, to the tune of $120-$150 per set.

Sounds like a lot of effort with weird brands that won't be around in 3 years, just to get 1% better than stock HIDs. If not 1% worse.

Unfortunately I do not have stock HIDs, nor were they available my model year. I haven’t had much luck finding affordable takeoffs. You can often find acceptable performance for value in the aftermarket, that’s what I was hoping for here.

Thanks for the video! Diode Dynamics doesn’t make an SL1 in H7, but I’ve used a yellow set in my fogs and wasn’t very impressed. I’m just not very impressed with LED bulbs at this point.

I recently installed Aukee H7 LED bulbs into my projector headligts on my 2018 and I was so impressed with the output compared to the "Eye of Megatron" Hikari bulbs, I boxed up the Hikari bulbs before installing the second Aukee bulb. LOL. These are the ones I ordered. Check them out for your bulb size.

Yea that sucks. I’m ab to put some LASFIT LEDs (hi and lo) in another vehicle, I’llreport back when I can test them. There are so many crap brands that you have be choosy.
