Default All-Terrain T/A KO VS. Nitto Terra's

OK guys I have narrowed it down to these two tires, and need to decide which one I want here fairly soon.

What are your opinions on each tire?

Thanks,

Greg

i don't have either and can't speak for either tire, but you will probably get numerous opinions about this. i personally have Falken Rocky Mountain ATS' on my truck and so far, i love them! i don't have any complaints! i wanted a good all terrain tire, and i think these fit that bill very well.

I went with the KO's. Very happy with the ride/handling/noise level. I like the look of the aggressive tread on the Nitto's but, heard the KO were a little better in the rain, which is a big deal where I live. So far so good!

I heard the Nitto's have tread life issues too, is this true?

I've had the BFG's before and was very happy with them. I have the Nitto's now but have only had them for about a month so my experience is limited. The price difference for 305/55/20's was substantial and I have several friends who have run Nitto's for years and all of them have gotten over 50,000 miles out of them with lots of tread left.
I can say that I had some consistent balancing issues with the BFG's when I went up to a 315 and had to have two of them replaced to achieve an acceptable balance/ride with no shimmy.
The Nitto's I just bought balanced with 1/2 once of weight on 3 of them and 1 1/2 ounce on the other. So far they are very smooth, quiet on the road, and pull well off road.

My $.02.
Good luck!

I had the KO's on my F250 Superduty and I loved them. Never got stuck once and the tread life is great, those tires seem to last forever. My uncle had a few sets of these and he has always loved them. I was in between these and the Nitto's too but I'm glad i chose the BFGs, not dissing the Nitto's though because they do look great I just never had any experience with them.

I loved the BFG's on my F-350 also. If the price difference weren't so substantial for a 20" wheel I would have gone with them again.
The tread life issue with Nitto's seems to be consistent with the weight of the truck. The heavier trucks tend to wear the tires faster than the light trucks from al the homework I did when I was shopping.
