Default Alignment Problems

Has anyone been told that you need a camber kit installed to get an accurate front end alignment after 2.5 level kit install?

A tire shop told me that on a truck several years ago. The truck was completely stock and never been wrecked - it drove fine. I told them to set the toe and not to worry about the camber. Never had an issue with odd tire wear.

YES! I was like wtf? But the tire shop I take my trucks to is really honest and he said he was able to get it close enough that my tires would wear just like normal but I should consider getting the kit.

You can get within Specs without a camber kit...

That's exactly what happened. After alignment the shop called and said they were done and that it was within spec. But I had told him before hand that I wanted it dead on. So this all makes since now. Thanks everyone!

No shims, cams on the LCA.

Yes can get it perfectly dialed in without using cams but it may not stay there. The problem is the slotted holes for the LCA, once you break that factory torque, it can be prone to moving due to the lack of cams from the factory. One more thing, just because it is "in spec" doesn't always mean that it is right or that you won't have a tire wear issue.
