Any value in spraying down the passenger vents? Does it get to where it needs to go?
The fan motor will suck it in where it needs to go, just keep a continual stream of spray going in, might wanna put down towels if you don't have protective floor mats because you will need to soak the box inside dripping. Same outside but towels not needed.

No harm in spraying in any of the ducts but the moisture will be concentrated in the central core of the box where the evap core is located. That is why the fan needs to run on HIGH speed to suck the saturation of disinfectant in so it don't dry out before it hits the core.

Definitely not a refrigerant leak because it would have a sweet smell and be oily. The condensation coming out would be mixed with refrigerant oil and you would see it. Reasons why the "other threads" said about no more smell is because they are replacing the coil and the box which is where the stagnant water is. I have fortunately never had the smell but had it in a Lincoln MKX I had

I used to. Specifically, it reminds me of dried cow manure, the loose stuff in the corner of the barn that never gets scraped up. :-)

Oh and for those that do not like the smell of Lysol (I don't either) they have different scents you can select from. I use

Has a very pleasant light scent, not over powering like old fashioned Lysol.

Might have to give this a try. The odor in my 2014 has been there since day one but never overwhelming but it gets strong when the a/c seems to cycle on/off and the temp goes from cold to a cool temp.

Mine started to smell musty I got some Ozone brand deodorizer. I turn on the AC then spray that under the dash until I smell it coming out the vents. Then no more musty smell for months

I too have the manure smell its been there for over 3 years and counting .
Truck only has 44K miles since 2011 new
My situation, I thought was unique since when it 1st started I was driving past a field that was spraying liquid manure and the truck climate controls were set on fan only with fresh air on.
I do not use A/C a lot around town and just use the fan set on #1 ,2 or 3 thinking the odor would dissipate.over time.
the smell lasts around 30 to 60 seconds, never pursued the dealer for the problem because I thought it was my fault for driving past a open area that was being sprayed.
Is there another update on the treatment other that the assorted sprays ?
