Do this, add smooth aluminum tubing and drop in a K&N or Airaid filter and you might get more of a power increase. Actually a pretty cost effective little mod, probably will have $100 in it all, give or take.

Just did this too. Haven't noticed much change except for the sound. Hopefully it may add a bit to the mileage.

Would this cause it to pull in hot air out of the engine bay? If so that would hurt performance. Louder sound would provide a placebo effect of more power.

How do you do this to a 5.4? I just tried it and that snorkel thing looks like it's permanently attached to the airbox, so I just left it alone.

i used a screw driver and pushed on the tab just be carefull not to stab yourself

it still pulls air from inside the fender

It's so hard to see in there with the rubber flap there. So you just push in on the side with a screw driver? I don't remember seeing an actual tab there. Pics would be much appreciated, if you don't mind.

you can take off your drivers side headlight, 3 10mm bolts, and reach in there and pull it off.
