Default Adding Skid Plates to XLT - possible?

My 2009 F150 XLT did not come with skid plates. Does anyone know if I can add them/order them after the fact? The dealership I talked to was next to worthless.

Also, is there a total of 3 different plates? Engine, Transmission and Gas Tank.

Thanks.

If the 09's are like the 04-08's,( And I am sure that they are.) as in the slots are already in the frame, then yes you can add them.

The engine and T-case are 5 mins a piece, you just need the clips, bolts, and the plates themselves. The gas tank is a little more complex as I believe you have to drop the tank to secure the skid plate to the blots that hold the tank up.

My 09 came with skid plates. I'll get some pics up. I would have to say you can add these. You just have to buy them from ford. I'll look at the sticker tomorrow and tell you how bad I got raped for them.

Its possible to get the skid plates for an xlt. I ordered my 09 xlt with skid plates. They were $160 from the factory so you could expect to pay a little more if you pieced them out from the dealer.

I checked on this. While it's $160 as an option on the window sticker, it's unfortunately more than $500 to buy them from the Ford dealer afterwards. I don't know of an aftermarket supplier.

I remember seeing that post and thought the work was well done too.
To the OP, you may want to check a junk yard if the oem skid plates can be found from a totalled '09 or '10 (assuming the plates are without damage).
