Default Adding Sirius to a 2011 F150

I tried searching and I didn't really find anything that matched.

I just bought a 2011 XLT SuperCrew and it has the Sirius button on the radio but when pressed, it says "no sat radio" or something along those lines.

Will the Sirius SXZ200 kit be all I need to get the sat radio? I already have a subscription from my other car.

Here is the kit I was looking at:

Thanks for the information.

Are you sure the subscription just didn't expire?

I'm pretty sure the subscription didn't expire but I'll double check. Sat radio isn't listed on the window sticker.

"No sat radio" means it's not installed. If the subscription ran out he would still get the preview channel

that kit won't work with the stock radio. you will need an aftermarket radio to use that kit.

So is there a kit I can buy that will work?

Would I be able to install it myself?

you pretty much need to find a complete OE setup and drill into your roof to mount the antenna if you want a true factory setup. Imo id just go to best buy and get a vehicle kit that has the radio and all and get an FM transmitter

Yes and yes. I have no idea what kits are out right now but there are quite a few that you can buy and put in yourself. If you have any store near you that sells stereo equipment go check out what they have. There are two options to connect it to your stereo. One is using a radio frequency from an unused station and the other is hooking it to the back of your radio.

Here's a question for anybody that might know. Could he buy a factory radio that has Sirius built in and plug it in? He'd still need to run an antenna but is it possible?

Edit: I forgot that there are a lot of aftermarket decks to choose from that have at radio built in

something like this will work with your existing OEM radio.

http://shop.siriusxm.com/xm/ctl10600...th_vehicle_kit

you can easily install that yourself.
